IFAPAC & Legislative News
Duke Marston

Yesterday the members of NAIFA Maine responded with PAC donations and increases of $1040 to our PAC for this year. We had the opportunity to hear three great program speakers and also both a Legislative update and a NAIFA National update during a truly memorable Sales Congress at Portland Country Club in Falmouth. From a PAC standpoint having eight members either increase a current contribution or make a new contribution shows great support for the importance of NAIFA Advocacy to all our careers. The importance of the PAC was outlined in our state lobbyist Dan Bernier's comments yesterday morning regarding some bills soon to be before the state legislature. The most onerous could be LD 564, a bill to create a state run IRA retirement plan. This is still in the early stages, but we will likely need  to be a presence is Augusta
early next year.

Thank you to all those who understand the IFAPAC mission.
